November 5th, 2014

I want to thank the voters of House District 41 for electing me to be their next State Representative. I am truly honored to have earned their trust. I look forward to tackling the critical issues that are facing Oregon– expanding our economy and creating high quality jobs; protecting the beauty and quality of life that make Oregon unique; strengthening our education system so all Oregonians can succeed; and protecting our vulnerable citizens.

As a first time candidate in a very competitive primary, I learned that running for office is a challenging, and at times daunting, task. Winning required real commitment and a lot of hard work. But that’s how it should be, since commitment and a willingness to work hard are qualities we all want from our elected officials.

Throughout the campaign, I've been truly humbled by the commitment of friends, family, neighbors and even people I didn’t know before who have offered me their support. I feel very fortunate to have such a great group of supporters who have stepped up to help my campaign succeed. Thank you to all my volunteers, contributors and endorsers – I could not have done it without you.

There are too many people to whom I am grateful to thank each one of them individually, but I would never have made it without the support of my family- my husband Chris, son Alexander and daughter Emily- thank you for sacrificing so much to make this possible. I also want to thank Suzi Asmus, my campaign manager, who made everything happen on time and kept everyone’s spirits up in the tough moments. And finally I want to thank Rep. Carolyn Tomei for her many years of service and for her mentorship.
